Penn Yan Couple Honored with 2025 Stork Award for Community Service

Staff Report / June 30, 2025

Stacy and Chris Wyant of Penn Yan have been named the recipients of the 2025 Donald and Corrine Stork Award for Community Service by Keuka College. The award, established in 1991, honors individuals who demonstrate outstanding commitment to their community, reflecting the college’s dedication to service. According to Kathy Waye, Director of the College’s Field Period® Program, the Wyants are a clear example of that mission through their contributions to local organizations and neighbors.

Stacy, who moved to Penn Yan from Dansville in 1987, became involved in community service soon after arriving. He is a longtime member and past president of the Penn Yan Rotary Club, where he has helped lead various initiatives, including food drives, international student exchanges, and the club’s centennial celebration. He has received several Paul Harris Awards in recognition of his efforts. Chris has also made a lasting impact through her leadership in the Philanthropic Education Organization (P.E.O.) Star Scholarship Committee, helping young women pursue higher education. Both are active members of Bluff Point United Methodist Church.

The couple expressed gratitude for the recognition, especially given their personal connection to Don and Corrine Stork. In a nomination letter submitted by neighbors, Stacy and Chris were praised for their dedication to improving the community and helping others in quiet, consistent ways. The Wyants will be honored at a luncheon on August 12 at Keuka College.
