Eric Rose, Commissioner of Public Works for Steuben County, announces that effective immediately, Bridge No. 03-26-01 (BIN 2216330), located on Spalding Drive over Harrisburg Hollow in the Town of Bath, is hereby posted for a maximum weight limit of 25 tons.
This bridge is situated between Harrisburg Hollow Road and State Route 415. The weight restriction is being enacted in accordance with the provisions of Section 234 of the New York State Highway Law, following a structural evaluation that determined the posting necessary to ensure continued safety for motorists and to prevent accelerated deterioration of the bridge structure.
Steuben County encourages all commercial vehicle operators and drivers of heavy vehicles to comply with the posted limit and use alternate routes as needed. Notification signage will be in place, and enforcement will be active.
The Department of Public Works appreciates the public’s cooperation and understanding as it continues to monitor and maintain the county’s transportation infrastructure.
