K9 Kinni passed away in August 2023

Mary Starkweather representing the Penn Yan Volunteer Ambulance Corps gives a $9,000 check to Sheriff Ron Spike as a donation for the purchase of a police working dog (K9) to replace K9 Kinni who died unexpectedly on August 16, 2023 while undergoing emergency surgery. His handler Deputy Brandon Jensen lost his forever partner.
Sheriff Spike said, “On behalf of our K9 unit we have great gratitude to the Penn Yan Ambulance Corps directors and members for this generous donation for us to purchase a new K9 police working dog. This is not the first time they have supported our K9 unit helping us replace a K9. They have our sincere thanks for this donation and their commitment to public safety in our community.”
