Staff Report / August 5, 2025
The Yates County Sheriff’s Office is ramping up efforts to curb impaired driving as part of the New York State STOP-DWI “100 Days of Summer” campaign.
Through the end of August, deputies will increase patrols and operate sobriety checkpoints while also focusing on public education initiatives to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.
The campaign, which runs weekends throughout the summer, is a coordinated effort among law enforcement agencies and STOP-DWI programs across the state. Officials say the initiative is aimed at preventing crashes, reducing injuries, and making roadways safer during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.
