The Penn Yan Theatre Company (PYTCo) has secured multiple grants to support its upcoming Summer Youth Program, which kicks off Monday at Penn Yan Middle School. Committed to keeping the program free for participants, PYTCo relies heavily on outside funding to cover production costs, staff compensation, and materials.
According to Corning Recreation Director Alex Hamilton, the pool developed a serious leak during the 2022 season that worsened significantly the following year. “In 2023, during spring preparations, we found that water was flowing out almost as fast as we were putting it in,” Hamilton said. A structural analysis conducted by HUNT Engineers and Architects revealed more than 220 feet of linear cracks in the pool’s shell, along with multiple holes.
