Keuka College Announces 2026 Induction Class forDr. Arthur F. Kirk, Jr. Athletics Hall of Fame

KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Department of Athletics has announced the 2026 inductees to the Dr. Arthur F. Kirk, Jr. Athletics Hall of Fame.

The Class of 2026 includes four student-athletes and a pair of historic basketball teams. Kyle Bower ’92Greg Roscoe ’93, and Harvey Chapel ’93 will be inducted individually, as will their 1990-91 Men’s Basketball Team and the 1989-90 Keuka College Women’s Basketball team. The final member of the class is Dr. Crystal Gips ’65 for her service to the College and its athletics programs over the past 60 years.

The induction, part of the annual Keuka College Green & Gold Reunion & Family Weekend, will be held on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Green & Gold Annual Celebration Dinner inside the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center on the College campus.

Kyle Bower ’92 – Men’s Basketball

Kyle Bower was a prolific scorer for the Keuka College Men’s Basketball team in the late 1980s and early 1990s. He was an early member of the 1,000-point club for the Green & Gold with 1,078 points over his career. Bower had one of the top rebounding displays in program history when he collected 282 boards in the 1990-91 season, still second-most in program history. He held the College record for points in a game for more than 35 years after scoring 40 in a win over Elmira College on Dec. 14, 1990. The record wasn’t broken util this past January. Bower received his bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and continued his education, earning his master’s from SUNY Geneseo. He is a former high school basketball coach and teacher. He recently retired from his position as Superintendent of the Hammondsport Central School District.

Greg Roscoe ’93 – Men’s Basketball

Greg Roscoe was one of the top guards in Keuka College Men’s Basketball history. He scored 1,176 points in his career, sixth-most in program history. During the 1990-91 season, he broke the season record with 436 points, averaging 19 per game. He held the single-game record of 37 points in a game before it was broken by his teammate, Kyle Bower. Roscoe was also pesky as a guard. He is second on the career list with 166 steals. Roscoe graduated from Keuka College with a degree in Management. He is currently a Security and Technology Consultant for Guardian Protection in Maryland.

Dr. Crystal J. Gips ’65, D.H.L. ’25 – Distinguished Service

Dr. Crystal Gips, trustee emerita, has made an extraordinary impact on Keuka College for more than six decades as a student-athlete, trustee, and philanthropist. As a student in the 1960s, she helped establish women’s basketball as a club sport and was a member of the pioneering team that earned a memorable one-point victory over Cornell University while playing in Hegeman Hall. In addition to basketball, she competed in field hockey and volleyball, exemplifying the leadership, determination, and school spirit that would define her lifelong commitment to the College.

Following her graduation, Dr. Gips continued to shape the future of Keuka College through distinguished service and extraordinary generosity. She served on the Board of Trustees from 2011 to 2026, including as Chair of the Board, providing visionary leadership during a transformative period in the College’s history. She played a pivotal role in advancing the College’s strategic priorities, strengthening philanthropic support, and championing transformational campus projects, including improvements to the JMW Recreation and Athletics Center. Through her leadership, philanthropy, and unwavering dedication, Dr. Gips has helped ensure that generations of Keuka College students, including countless student-athletes, will continue to thrive.

Harvey Chapel ’93 – Distinguished Alumni

Harvey Chapel was a four-year letterman for the Keuka College Men’s Basketball team. He came to the College from West Yorkshire, England, to play basketball and study management. Chapel would go on to captain the England U22 national basketball team. Following graduation from Keuka College, he earned a scholarship to Clarkson University to complete his MBA. He has enjoyed a successful career in finance and is currently a Managing Director at Pictet, one of the world’s most prestigious wealth and asset management firms. He has received numerous industry accolades and is recognized as one of Europe’s leading Private Bankers. Chapel still competes in basketball at a high level. He recently represented Great Britain at the World Masters Basketball Championships in Switzerland.

1990-91 Men’s Basketball Team

The 1990-91 Keuka College Men’s Basketball team was one of the top teams in program history. The Green & Gold set a program record with 19 victories. The squad included Bower, Roscoe, and Chapel, as well as Hall of Famer Jim Crowley ’93. During one stretch, the team won 15 straight games, still a record and nearly double that of second place on the list. They scored 2,018 points on the season and averaged 80.7 points per game, both ranking third on the all-time list. They were joined by this year’s Men’s Basketball team as the only programs in school history to score more than 2,000 points and collect more than 1,000 rebounds.

1989-90 Women’s Basketball Team

Led by Dr. Arthur F. Kirk, Jr. Athletics Hall of Famer the late Vanessa Morgan, the 1989-90 Keuka College Women’s Basketball team posted a 25-3 record, setting the mark for most wins in a season in history. They were just one of two teams in program history to score more than 2,000 points, finishing with 2,229 in the campaign. Embodying team basketball, they had nearly 500 assists on the year. Their 493 team assists in ranks as second-most in program history. The team won the ECAC Division III Upstate Championship, taking down Ithaca College in the semi-finals and SUNY Cortland in the championship.
