KEUKA PARK, N.Y. — The Keuka College Department of Athletics has announced that Daniel Steve ’21 will be the new Head Baseball Coach for the Wolves.
“I’m honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead this team,” said Steve. “Keuka College has had a tremendous impact on my life, both as a student-athlete and as a coach, and it is a privilege to give back to a place that means so much to me.”
Steve spent the past two seasons as Keuka College’s Pitching Coach under Head Coach Matt Michalski, who resigned from his position this summer to pursue options outside of coaching.

“Dan is someone who knows Keuka College, knows our baseball program, and cares deeply about the student-athlete experience,” said Associate Vice President and Director of Athletics Jon Accardi M’09. “His loyalty to the program and the College, his ability to recruit, and his fit within our department culture all stood out throughout this process. We are grateful for the work Coach Michalski did to move the program forward, and we believe Dan is the right person to continue that momentum while putting his own stamp on the program. He is a high-character guy who will work hard every day for our athletes.”
Steve, a 2021 graduate of Keuka College, was a standout on the mound for the Wolves. He helped set the team’s all-time win record in 2019, ranked tenth in career ERA, and tied for ninth in career strikeouts. Steve earned First Team All-North Eastern Athletic Conference honors in 2019 when he set the single-season record for earned run average at Keuka College with a 2.75. A Management major, Steve earned both North Eastern Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete and Empire 8 President’s List honors during his time as an undergraduate.
Following graduation, Steve played professionally in the PECOS Professional Baseball League and was named an all-star in 2021.
Steve began coaching in the fall of 2021 and spent three seasons as an assistant coach at Tompkins Cortland Community College. During that time, he also served three seasons as Head Coach of the Newark Pilots in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League. Steve returned to Keuka College as a pitching coach ahead of the 2025 season.
“I am excited to continue building on the foundation of this program and developing a team that competes at a high level while representing Keuka College with pride,” Steve added. “We will remain committed to developing successful student-athletes, both on the field and in the classroom, while creating a culture built on hard work, accountability, and growth.”
