Penn Yan, NY – Penn Yan community to take part in a cherished annual tradition honoring local veterans. Through the end of November, the hospital’s Auxiliary is hosting its “Remember and Honor Those Who Served” campaign, offering residents the opportunity to recognize veterans while supporting local healthcare.
For a donation of $10 or more, individuals can submit the name of a veteran to be featured on the hospital’s Honor Roll display, located in the main lobby. Each name serves as a visible reminder of the service and sacrifice of area men and women who have worn the nation’s uniform.
All proceeds from the campaign will benefit the hospital’s Emergency Department, helping fund the purchase of new equipment to improve patient care.
The tribute continues a legacy that stretches back more than a century — Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital was originally named in honor of Yates County residents who served during World War I.
To participate, donations (made payable to Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital Auxiliary) may be mailed along with the name of the veteran — and whether the tribute is in honor or memory — to:
