Meet Livingston County Deputy Cornelius!

LCSO Deputy has wanted to “protect and serve” since she was very young

From the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office,

Deputy Alyssa Cornelius joined the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office in August of 2024. She began her career in the Correctional Services Bureau where she was assigned as a Deputy working inside the Livingston County Jail. In March of 2025, Deputy Cornelius transferred over to the Police Services Bureau and attended the Finger Lakes Law Enforcement Academy in Canandaigua. She graduated from the academy in October of 2025 and successfully completed the Field Training program with our agency. Deputy Cornelius is currently assigned to the Day Shift in our Patrol Division.

Deputy Cornelius is a 2020 graduate of Mount Morris Central School. After High school, she attended college at SUNY Brockport and then SUNY Cortland where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminology. While in college she also completed an internship with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office in 2023, where she gained insight into various functions of our office.

Deputy Cornelius has always had her eye on Law Enforcement: “It’s the only career path I’ve ever imagined myself doing ever since I was little.”

Please join us in recognizing Deputy Cornelius for her dedicated service to Livingston County!
